The World champion in 1981 and 1983, Guo Yuehua, and the winner of the Men’s World Cup in 1985, Chen Xinhua, will complete the line up for the Spectacular Pairs competition to be held as a special feature at the Volkswagen 2010 Cup – Guangzhou, to be staged in the southern Chinese city on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th March.

On 10th and 11th November, the experienced European team with Boll, Samsonov, Maze, Schlager and Kreanga will challenge the an Asian team led by world no.1 Wang Hao plus Joo Se Hyuk, Chuang Chih-Yuan, Li Ching and Gao Ning. The first leg was played in Beijing in August where Asia prevailed in both Team competitions with three to two matches. Schlager Hopeful for Europe

The Austrian table tennis superstars Werner Schlager and Liu Jia produced a pop song with the sport colleagues from their country. The song was released on the occasion of the gala night of sport.
