The Austrian table tennis superstars Werner Schlager and Liu Jia produced a pop song with the sport colleagues from their country. The song was released on the occasion of the gala night of sport.
The Austrian sports department wants to polish the negative image of sport cause by several doping issues in the recent past.

China’s Zhang Yining and Guo Yue retain the respective top two places on the Women’s World Ranking list published by the International Table Tennis Federation on Wednesday 4th November 2009.
No doubt when selecting the players for national representation, those two names would be the first to be listed on the team sheet.

Tennis ace Serena Williams of the United States picked up a table tennis racket on the eve of the Sony Ericsson Championships in Doha. The current WTA no. 2 was taught table tennis by former Commonwealth champion Matthew Syed.

World and European champion Werner Schlager showed the construction site of his future academy to ITTF President Adham Sharara and his team.
The Werner Schlager Academy in Wien-Schwechat will open in 2010 with building costs of 46.2 million Euros (US$68.4 million).

China’s Ma Long justified his top seeded billing in the Men’s Singles event at the English Open, by overcoming compatriot and no.3 seed Ma Long at the final hurdle to clinch gold on Sunday 1st November 2009.
Ma Long continued the devastating form he had displayed throughout the whole tournament to beat Ma Lin a four straight games.

Winners of the respective Men’s and Women’s Singles titles at the Volkswagen Pro Grand Finals in Macao in December 2008, emerged as the champions at the English Open in Sheffield on Sunday 1st November 2009.

After great effort from the Oceania Table Tennis Federation, TMS International and the ITTF Marketing Division, an agreement has been made with Fox Sports in Australia to broadcast World Title Table Tennis events, the World of Table Tennis and the Oceania Cup. Fox Sports, part of the Premier Media group, is the largest cable TV network in the country; famous for its sports content inside Australia.
