The Austrian table tennis superstars Werner Schlager and Liu Jia produced a pop song with the sport colleagues from their country. The song was released on the occasion of the gala night of sport.
The Austrian sports department wants to polish the negative image of sport cause by several doping issues in the recent past.

TV Spot and Song
After intensive preparation, the team “Rot-Weiss-Rot” (red-white-red, the colours of the Austrian flag) released the song “Wir sind Sieger” (We are Winners). 29 of the most renowned summer and winter sportsmen of Austria, among others also the table tennis aces Werner Schlager and Liu Jia, have recorded the song for a good purpose.
After the motto “When you want, you can reach everything” the new sports hymn functions as promoter of an offensive communication activity in favour of Austrian top sport. The advertisement runs in Austrian cinemas and on TV channels.
Revalue the Performance of the Athletes
“As minister of sport I think it’s important, not least because of the numerous negative publicity about doping issues and also around the ÖOC [Austrian Olympic Committee], that we promote our sportswomen and sportsmen and their great performances for our country”, says Minister of Sport and Team “Rot-Weiss-Rot” initiator Norbert Darabos.

The platform “Team Rot-Weiss-Rot” stands for a new community spirit as well as for a new solidarity in Austria’s top sport; furthermore it is the new promotion programme of top sport of the country.
