    The inaugural Youth Olympic Games will be staged in Singapore from 14th to 26th August 2010.

    The qualification system for this new international multi-sport event was approved by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Commission of the ITTF at its meeting held in December 2008 in Madrid.

    Mixed Team Competition - A Mixed Gender Event
    Only players born in 1994 and 1995 will be eligible to participate in the south east Asian city state. 

    A total of 64 players, with a maximum of one boy and one girl per association, will compete in three different competitions: Boys’ Singles, Girls’ Singles and Mixed Team. In the latter event, one boy and one girl will form a team.

    The first opportunity to qualify for Singapore will be at the ITTF Cadet Challenge in Tokyo, Japan in October 2009.
