The 2009 Kuwait and Qatar Open will have a new record prize money of US$ 300,000. The winner of the Men’s and Women’s Singles event will receive 30,000 respectively; the runner-ups earn 15,000.
The prize money has been extended to the round of 32 in Men’s and Women’s singles. The title in Doubles is remunerated with 8,000; the ones for the U21 with US$ 2,000. Women and men have the same prize money in all respective events.

The Pro Tour Kuwait Open in Kuwait City will be staged from 11th to 15th February; the ERKE Qatar Open in Doha are fourth event on the 2009 ITTF Pro Tour starting on Tuesday 17th February 2009 shortly after the Kuwait Open.
The latest table tennis events such as the Pro Tour events 2009 will be available free of charge on the internet TV channel of the International Table Tennis Federation (itTV).
