Good news for the 2009 ITTF Pro Tour: the year long competition series is offering now more than US$ 2.8 million dollars.

After the successful Qatar and Kuwait Opens, where the prize money was raised for first time in the history of the Pro Tour to US$300,000, the ITTF has another event to be confirmed with an amount starting with the magic number of “three”. China Open in Suzhou with a New Record Prize Money
The China Open from 3rd to 7th June 2009 will take place in Suzhou, an Eastern Chinese city about 80 kilometres from Shanghai. The Pro Tour China Open will be the first ITTF event staged in the city famous for its gardens, located in the centre of the Yangtze river delta and often praised as “Oriental Venice”.

The China Open will not only be attractive because of the beauty of the city, but also owing to the record prize money of US$ 330,000.

Rewards until the Round of the Last 32
The purse allows organisers to reward all players reaching the round of the last 32 and to the best four players in the U21 events as well, while the winners of the Men’s and Women’s Singles event will take US$33,000 each.

As well as increased prize money the Organizing Committee will also be offering free hospitality to a set number of participants.

Belarus Open Prize Money Increases too
There is also a change in the prize money for the Belarus Open. Compared to the original US$25,200 US dollar, now US$28,000 will be provided by the organizers of the first Pro Tour event after the H.I.S. 2009 World Table Tennis Championships in Yokohama. The additional US$2,800 dollars will be distributed among the best players in the U21 events.
