As the final touches are being administered the first players start to arrive. The message is clear, plans have become reality.
A few days ago, encouraged by reports that she was doing better, I decided to visit Sandra Paovic in Nottwil, Switzerland. I had been guilt-ridden ever since she had her very unfortunate accident, and felt extreme pain and sadness about the outcome of the accident for Sandra. However, Sandra’s spirit and determination coupled with an abundance of positive attitude gives her the fortitude necessary to cope with such a tragedy. This I was told. Then, the outpouring of support and donations coming from the Table Tennis community and the incredible response to the fund-raising campaign held in Croatia with countrywide support raised the necessary funds to allow Sandra the best treatment available in Europe in Nottwil. “I could not believe that all these people were willing to support me, it’s really incredible”.
With these words you can see the sparkle in Sandra’s eyes and the sense of comfort knowing that her own country has provided the lion share of the funds needed for her treatment, and knowing that the community she chose, and in which she excels, the table tennis community is fully behind her.
“Did it make you feel good and lift your spirits knowing that players and compatriots are so supportive?” I asked innocently.
“I really could not believe all the support I got financially and all the support and goodwill I got. I received a beautiful card from the Hong Kong team. I could not believe it. We rarely spoke to each other before. But it is so touching that they think of me. My attitude has changed, I know that all these players are just like me, and sometimes it’s just a question of language that makes our communication difficult. But now I know we are all the same, and I really thank all the players for their donations. It is unbelievable.” She stresses with a lot of enthusiasm.
A defensive player has to be patient; that is an essential quality; it is a quality that Japan’s Koji Matsushita undoubtedly possessed during his long and illustrious career which came to a conclusion earlier in the year at the Japanese National Championships.
i use this rubber a very long time before speed glue is not allowed for my backhand side. it is still one of my all time favorite backhand rubbers. it is great for players like i was who do not have very good back hand loops and are not confident with their backhand. it is very good with smash, psuhing, blocking, drivnig, counterdriving, etc. the feel on this rubber for backhand is much better than other rubbers.

these balls are great for any competitive play either at a club at a local tourney or world championships. several times these balls are used at world championships with world players. it is a very very reliable ball to play with. they are also very affordable, each box with 3 costs maybe only 1.50, which is half of other 3 star balls. best thing, the DHS 3 stars are jsut as good. the durability is even better i think. you can hit several rallies or several matches before they even lose there feeling and crack. the hardness is just right for play as well. i never feel any unusual feeling with these. strongly recommend!
we use the doulbe fish balls for practie in my club in china. it is a very reliable practice ball that does not cost you lots of money. these balls will last a very very long time. i guess based on we play maybe 8 hrs each day 7 days a week in china they last each for 1 month before they deform or have cracks in them. if you play without knowing the ball, you would think it is a very high quality ball like a 3 star ball. it does not feel like practice balls at all. these are best for club practices or serving practice. if you are looking for practice ball, these are great choice.
i feel stiga ers gel shoes are jsut too bulky for table tennis. it is feels too heavy and burdensome on you foot.
this was one of the first blades i have ever used. i used to use this with hurricane 3 on fore hand side and hammond on the back hand side (back when speed glue is still alowed) i think it is a decent blade, but more for beginning players not as good for advanced n professional players because it is not a very fast blade. iut worked well with hurricane for me when i was a beginner because i could loop very good but still control the ball. with teh backhand on hammond, i looped kind of slow and spinny, and i could block very well on both sides. if you are under USATT rating 1200, you should change to faster blade
amultart is definitely a very good blade, but it is very very pricey. i am not sure if you want to spent 150 dollars on a blade, but i you do, do not worry because you will not be disappointed! it has very good looping characteristics. the speed is not outrageous, but it is more than enough to do very good loops. the control is very good too though. this is one of my favorite blades for blocking because the ball seems to sink into the wood and carbon of this blade, a feelign i like. i found this blade is real good with bryce speed fx and tenergy 64, as over tenergy 05. it is worth trying
