It’s time to get excited for the 2013 Sainsbury’s School Games as the players and coaches have been announced for the eighth edition of the popular table tennis tournament.
After the brief foray into the 2012 Olympic Games venue ExCeL last year, the Sainsbury’s School Games will head back to Ponds Forge in Sheffield with both the team and individual competitions ready for action.
England’s Cadet and Junior table tennis players are heading to Ostrava, Czech Republic this weekend with the hope of securing some priceless medals from the European Youth Championships (12-21st July 2013).
The English Table Tennis Association Ltd (ETTA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Sutcliffe in the post of Interim Chief Executive Officer from 15h July 2013.
Sara comes to the ETTA with an excellent background and extensive experience primarily within the sports industry including most recently the British Olympic Association where she was Director of Legal and HR for almost 12 years.
Medal haul for NTU at European Champs
Nottingham Trent University’s table tennis team brought home three medals from the European University Table Tennis Championships held in Zonguldak, Turkey.
They secured one silver and two bronze medals after a successful campaign in Europe.
The latest Active People’s Survey (APS) has provided further evidence that table tennis participation levels continue to be on the rise across the country.
According to the results released by Sport England on 13th June, table tennis has shown almost a 5% increase in once a week participation levels over the past 12 months.

An astonishing 62 hours was broadcasted on CCTV5 during the LIEBHERR 2013 World Table Tennis Championships with the two Singles Finals being the second and third most watched sports programs on China’s CCTV in 2013 so far.
The English Table Tennis Association’s Chief Executive, Richard Yule, has been recognised for his long and glittering career in table tennis with the International Table Tennis Federation’s Merit Award at a ceremony held at the recent World Championships in Paris, France.
This year’s penultimate British Grand Prix event, the Bribar London GP, has seen the highest entry in three years with over 200 players to descend upon a jam-packed Redbridge Sports Centre next weekend.
